TITLE I PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT POLICY
Cradock Elementary School will involve parents of our students in the following ways:
- Cradock Elementary School will hold an annual meeting for the parents of Cradock Elementary School students to share information about title one program and other activities/programs at the school. This annual meeting is our Open House and PTA meeting held in September.
- Cradock Elementary School will offer a variety of meetings during various times of the day for parents to attend. These meetings include:
- Tailgate Meet & Greet
- Ask a Therapist
- Device Distribution & Technology Support Day
- Supply Distribution Day
- Food Bank Distribution Day/Backpack Program
-Navigating Schoology Day for Parents
- Fall Candy Festival
- Annual Title I Presentation
- Harvest Produce Parade/Drive Through
- Coat Drive
- Math Night / Virtual Bingo
- Dr. Seuss Celebration - Guest Readers
- Black History Celebration
- Military Parents' Appreciation Drive Through
- ESL Family Appreciation Drive Through
- Parent Appreciation Drive Through
- Cradock Elementary School will involve the parents of our students in the planning, review and improvement of programs of the school through participating on the School Improvement Team, the PTA Board, completing Parent Surveys and Volunteer Surveys and representing the school at the Title i Parent Advisory Board Meeting.
- Parenting in-service will also be offered throughout the school year.
- Cradock Elementary School will provide parents with information about the curriculum, rules and regulations, and programs in the schools. Parents will be given the Cradock Elementary School Handbook, the Portsmouth School Parent Handbook for Elementary Education, which contains the curriculum guide for all subjects. Cradock Elementary School will provide parents the opportunity for regular meeting to formulate suggestions and make decisions relating to the education of their children.
- Parents will be able to schedule conferences with parents and administrators to collaborate on strategies to ensure students growth and achievement.
- Cradock Elementary School will ensure effective involvement of parents through communicating information about the states standards, the state and the school's assessments and activities that support student achievement through:
- Providing information about educational
websites available on the internet to assist
in their child's achievement.
- Providing staff development for teachers
on ways to foster effective parent-teacher
relationships.
- Share Parent's Rights when receiving
information on special programs like
special education services.
- Ensuring that the information related to
the school and parent programs, meetings
and other activities sent home form
school is in the language that the parents
can understand.
- Provide Opportunities for parents to
engage with each other and involvement
by participating on the district Parent
Advisory Council.
- Develop relationships with community-
based organizations and businesses.
Cradock Elementary School will provide timely information about programs implemented under
Title 1 Part A to principals, Parents and staff in an effort to help keep all parents apprised of revisions in federal and state law.
